Numiko

Stemming off from last year:

So I finally got to go on a visit! Beth and Jenna were going at the same time as me so we went as a group. Matthew was very nice and helpful and introduced us to the different parts of the team. They explained what they did and we got to ask them any questions we wanted to no. There are around 25-30 people there. They look at user experience and knowledge of the audience which they then work out scamps and wireframes for the interface. The design team work with the frames and make PSD files which then get turned to motion if necessary by another part of the team. From there they then turn it into web and it is coded into a functioning interface.
I asked him about sending through a portfolio in reference to placement in which he instructed us to email him a PDF (sorry John I didn't ask 'is there anyone else I should be talking to'..).

My Portfolio I sent:

I hadn't had a response after a week so I emailed him to see if he'd managed to look at it and if he had to get feedback even though it wasn't suitable for there placement.

As I had no response I rung up the studio.
First time he was not in for the day, call back tomorrow.
Second time he was on his lunch ring back later.
Third time I spoke to him! Patience is a virtue! He said he was really busy which I was aware of and he'd look at it on monday.

RESULT:
He gave me a very useful and through insight into my work and portfolio.

My Response:

Although I didn't get a placement I thought his feedback was useful and gave me more insight into what projects created an impact and in which way. For example the storybooks caused a personal response as he had done something similar. Also he mentioned that my layout and presentation was easy to browse and understand so thats something to properly stick with for future work!

Although I felt like I was a pest and hassling them it turns out I did get a result and by keeping in contact it reminded them about me whereas with Allotment last year I lost contact and it broke down the opportunity to do some work for them. Gentle reminders in there busy schedule keeps you involved as something to do within there schedule!
